Welcome to the Pembrokeshire Virtual Museum
The Pembrokeshire Virtual Museum uses modern technology to depict the historical and cultural past of the County. This website will allow people from all over the world to discover and explore the historical past of Pembrokeshire at the click of a button.
Visitors to the Pembrokeshire Virtual Museum can to browse through the large collection of old photographs and postcards; take virtual tours of Pembrokeshire’s historical sites; find out about the historical events that have impacted on the County; learn about the various trades and industries that once flourished in the County; and much much more.
The website has been created as part of the Cultural X-change Project, which was a joint initiative between Pembrokeshire County Council and Carlow County Council in Ireland. To find out more about the Cultural X-change, visit www.culturalxchange.net.
Throughout the website there are links to pages on the Carlow Virtual Museum website. To view the equivalent webpage on the Carlow website, simply click on the link next to the County Carlow Coat of Arms located in the right navigation bar.
The launch of the website on 15th August 2006 does not mark the end, but rather the beginning of what is a truly fascinating initiative. The aim is to continuously develop and expand the website into a complete and comprehensive resource that will be accessed by millions.
